djavan jami is a singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. her music is an eclectic blend of hip hop, trap, and r&b, relying on emotive lyricism and detailed vocal harmonies derived from her experience in classical music performance and composition. singing in both english and spanish, her afro-latino roots also play an important part in her song creation and process.
originally from new york, djavan is now based in copenhagen, denmark, where she has been able to blend her love of music with her participation in activism in the city’s qtbipoc community, performing at and organizing events highlighting the growing presence of artists of color in the diy scene. additionally, she is a member of the omondo collective, scandinavia’s first all-black r&b collective. she is working towards the release of her debut ep this fall.
